I agree. The interfaces for most games are usually hindered by the fact that your fingers are in front of major parts of the screen for most of the game play. The Wolfenstein game that was also released by Id earlier this year is a great simple first person shooter, but since all the controls reside on the corners and edges of the screen, you begin to feel a little claustrophobic.

If they make a controller that everyone agrees upon as a standard, I think the Iphone will smash the competition. As it stands, most games feel fairly limited by the touch screen commands and are usually difficult to control. Also, you end up losing a lot of screen real estate to the virtual buttons. Make a wireless or dock controller that mimics console versions, and I think you would have a juggernaut gaming platform.
